The National Organization for Women's Website:

The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission failed to follow through on a part of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, a legal mandate to end sex discrimination in employment. At the National Conference of State Commissions on the Status of Women, feminist activists such as Betty Friedan, Dr. Pauli Murray, and Muriel Fox gathered and decided to no longer stand by while women were not equals. Together in Friedan's hotel room, they formed NOW, The National Organization for Women. The organization still exists today, and their website is an informative and relevant source for information on the history of Feminism and what the organization is doing today.

Read the Feminine Mystique online:

Betty Friedan's famed book that women all over the world continue to read and use. The book sparked national controversy, and many believe that it sparked the second wave of feminism. The book proved to many that feminism benefited both women and men, and it made many women come to terms with the many social inequalities that plagued them.

The historic Levittown, New York was the mother of all existing suburbs. It's rich history as well as the affect that it had on the 1940s and 50s is deatailed in this informative and interesting article. Levittown skyrocketed in popularity after the war as a result of the housing shortage that veterans faced after WWII. Levittown changed the way America lives, and how we view suburbia today

Information on Roe vs. Wade:

The Court Case of Roe vs. Wade was a historic landmark in the history of feminism. Up until the 1970s, abortion was criminally punishable except in cases of rape or incest in most states. The publicity surrounding this court case was met with the most divided opinions of any case in history. Finally the court ruled in 1973 that abortion should be considered a fundamental right for women in the United States.
